When the top ten walked out at the opening of the show, I just clued in that there’s only three girls left, so many guys this year! Also who’s that new black girl and what did they do with Lil? This is my review of tonight’s performances…
Matt Giraud - ‘Let’s Get It On’ - It was a good performance and I’m liking him more and more each week. I don’t see him winning at this point since there’s some bigger personalities with bigger voices but who knows. Kara said “I think there is a lot of girls out there saying yeah let’s get it on”, maybe that’s not his thing gurrlll!!!
Kris Allen - ‘How Sweet It Is’ - So much better than last week and singing with a guitar seems like a strong point for him. I could see him releasing a very mainstream pop/rock album which could be good. As for the self belief thing Simon was going on about, it wouldn’t suit Kris to be more confident because he’s cute and quirky now and he would come off as an ass and we have Danny Gokey doing it enough for everyone this season.
Scott MacIntyre - ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’- I feel like people are tip toeing around him with comments and criticism (Cough Paula, Cough Kara). His version of the song was exactly something you would hear a million times over at a piano bar. Where Simon apparently drinks since he uses that expression all the time. Also when he responds back to the judges it makes me cringe and uncomfortable. He’s now down to joking about not knowing that he’s wearing pink pants to win over the public. LAME!
Ryan quit asking Paula questions like how she would rate someones performance compared to others since she always has the awkward silence then mumbles until Simon starts poking her. Then she takes the focus off the question and brings it to Simon. It’s getting old!
Megan Joy Corkrey - ‘For Once in My Life’ - Ok, again she’s pretty but tonight she looks like Hawaiian Barbie with an arm colored by a 5-year old with markers. She wasn’t very good tonight either. I agree with Randy, it was a train wreck. Her voice didn’t sit well in the song. She’s going to be in the bottom three and maybe even going after that. Also aww she thinks she has real fans… little does she know when she gets kicked of the show this week or next they will forget who she is!
Anoop Desai - ‘Ohh Baby Baby’ - Just like last week it wasn’t bad but it was boring. He clearly isn’t going to win and we all know he’s only got a few weeks left. Ryan asked him if he thought he had a chance and Anoop said he shouldn’t be there if he doesn’t think so. Which is true but your not going to win. This is fact.
Michael Sarver - ‘Ain’t Too Proud to Beg’ - Bottom three and fingers crossed gone this week. The whole thing was awful and Daddy needs to go home to his little girl and his real job! I think a little bit of Paula died when she was giving him bad criticism. It was kinda sad to see her almost cry over it. The comments were all harsh but for good reason, he needed a reality check and to know this show is over for him.
Lil Rounds - ‘Heatwave’ - Looks wise she wins tonight. I loved the fringe dress, hair and make-up. She wasn’t awful tonight but wasn’t her best. She’s a good singer but hasn’t had the big moment that she’s been trying for. Like a lot of people this season, she’s struggling each week with song choice. Isn’t there someone on the show to help her find one that suits her best? Also when Ryan was talking to her after the performance, I didn’t understand a word she said? All I heard was something about Obama?
Adam Lambert - ‘Tracks Of My Tears’ - So my guess is that the judges will save their one save for Adam this season. Knowing that people who shouldn’t get through… do and that people who shouldn’t leave… get the boot. Adam might get the boot closer to the top 3 and then they will save him. He’s the only person at this point I would save. As for the performance this week, it was really good and wasn’t boring like Annop. There’s a big difference and I’m starting to become an Adam fan if not already, I want him to win now!!! VOTE!!!
Danny Gokey - ‘Get Ready’ - Ugghh all I see when I see him is:
He seems so cocky and it bugs me to no end. I can’t stand him. I can admit he’s not a bad singer at times but I really can’t look at him!!! Paula sit down!!! I really hope he gets the boot soon!!! OMG Simon I so agree it was clumsy and amature!!!
Allison Iraheta - ‘Papa Was A Rolling Stone’ - One of the best of the night. She’s the only girl left that could win. As for her outfit, I like it but she looks like a mini Paula Abdul. Like she walked into Paula’s closet. She better not be in the bottom three again tomorrow!!!
So overall the night was soooooo much better than last week. I think the bottom three will consist of Megan, Scott, and Michael with Michael getting the boot.
